In eleven images sized 1.25×1.5 m, the Schwules Museum* shows a series of pictures by Ronka Oberhammer which has been awarded the New York Times Award at the Eddie Adams Workshop in 1997 and a regional grant from the Tyrol in 1998. The photographs were produced with a large format camera in Berlin in 1997/8. Working with 4×5 large format film created technical conditions that necessarily influenced the relationship between the photographer and her models: Snapshots were impossible. The images, which she donated to the Schwules Museum* were shot in the homes of the subjects, in clubs or
outdoors.

Ronka Oberhammer, b. 1972, raised in Innsbruck,Austria. After training in the Tyrol and Rome, she finished at the Lette-Verein photography school in Berlin.
