The Magical World of the Moomins – a Troll Adventure at the Schwules Museum*

14. September 2014 – 10. November 2014

– especially for children and teenager!

Opening on 13 September at 3 pm

Curator: Michael Fürst

Starting in September, the Schwules Museum* is showing the exhibition “The Magical World of the Moomins – a Troll Adventure at the Schwules Museum*”.

Tove Jansson (1914-2001), the Finnish-Swedish lesbian author of the famous Moomins stories, would have celebrated her 100th birthday this year. This centennial is being celebrated with exhibitions, stage shows and numerous other events not only in Finland, but all over the world.

The Schwules Museum* is joining in as well, with an exhibition on the Moomins from 14 September to 10 November, 2014, opening on 13 September at 3 pm. There will be no originals of Tove Jansson; it is an exhibition to participate and to create your own Moomin, which then will become part of the exhibition. So, get ready to get your hands dirty: in this show, we absolutely want you to touch and play!

This exhibition marks the first time the museum explicitly addresses young audiences – as well as everybody in whom the Moomins bring back memories of childhood. And we promise you’ll meet some old friends from Moominvalley…

Free admission for children up to 16 years
