The rosa Winkel publishing house was founded 50 years ago.
Schwules Museum is celebrating this anniversary with five individual evenings, during which former publisher Hans Hütt will present six important books from the publishing program.

With the two essay collections “Elements of a Homosexual Critique” and “Three Billion Perverse,” the publishing house brought the very different world of highly literate, sparkling essays from the French-speaking world to Germany. Although the avant-garde theory publisher Merve and, to some extent, even Suhrkamp had already caught wind of what was happening, they did not really dare to tackle these darker sides of Deleuze, Guattari, Barthes, and Foucault. In retrospect, it seems like editorial amputation that the established German publishers did not want to let these sides of their prominent authors cross the Rhine.
A special highlight are the original graphics by Brazilian artist Arlindo Daibert entitled “Fragments of an Amorous Discourse,” which found their way to Berlin via a roundabout route. They are a reference to Roland Barthes’ “Fragments of a Language of Love” (Fragments d’un discours amoureux, 1977) and were included in “Three Billion Perverse” with Arlindo’s permission. It was sensational that Brazilian gays, under conditions of brutal persecution by the military dictatorship, had found such self-confidence and thus made it clear that they were a self-assured part of a worldwide movement.

Hans Hütt is a political scientist. Dudenverlag has published several books on words from five decades. Hütt worked for 15 years as a strategic planner for communications agencies in Frankfurt, London, and Berlin.
