Buchpremiere – Book presentation: Boys of St. Petersburg

3. November 2014 19:00

Eintritt  frei.

Michael Andrew comes to the Schwules Museum* to present and sign his newly published illustrated Book “The Boys of St. Petersburg”. We exhibit a selection of his artful and empathetic portraits in the café of the Schwules Museum*.

The Australian photographer visited the city on the Neva almost twenty times. Always with him: His camera that allows us now to get a sensitive, aesthetic and personal insight in the life of “The Boys of St. Petersburg”. Andrew calls his photographic work on St. Petersburg and the guys a “voyage into the Russian soul” and his book invites us to join him on this journey.

In the context of the book presentation we are happy to welcome a delegation of queer activists from Moscow and hope to strengthen the community bonds between Moscow and Berlin. On Wednesday, 5th November at 7.30pm there will be a public reception of the guests from Moscow at the City Hall Charlottenburg, Otto-Suhr-Allee 100.

With a screening of the short film “Der Tag wird kommen”, with Russian subtitles, music performed by Vladimir Miller and his Russian-Ukrainian ensemble and a discussion (with MP Volker Beck and activists).

Free admission.
