The big event this month is the Long Night of Museums, in which we will participate along with 74 other exhibition venues. Our exhibitions will be open, there will be several public tours – among others by Gaby Tupper – and also a small show program with Sigrid Grajek, Peach Fuzz and Jona Gold, whose performances will be repeated every two hours. All information about the program and ticket sales can be found on the event’s website.
Peach Fuzz: Peach combines sexiness, humor and activism in his performances. Take a bite and let the taste of Peach melt in your mouth, because it’s sweet, smooth and full of vitamins!
Sigrid Grajek sings songs from the 1920s: At the beginning of the last century, there were songs on every topic – including homosexuality. Sigrid Grajek presents a small selection: Magnus Hirschfeld’s research is taken to task, the sultry purple nights are sung about, and “Hannelore vom Halleschen Tore” is a musical monument to the “New Woman” taking her freedom.
Obertunte Jona Gold – Memoirs of a Young Tunte at the Gay Museum: Queer, charming, militant – the Obertunte unpacks her worst experiences at the Gay Museum.
Gaby Tupper’s Tunten-Tours: Gaby Tupper has been working in and for Berlin’s queer scene since 1996 as a presenter, performer, city guide, cultural organizer and “community queen” at the Teddy Award, the Berliner Aids Hilfe and the Gay Museum, among others.
