We invite all porn film lovers to a collective screening and the discussion of old gay and queer porn movies on VHS and Super 8. The workshop leaders Nils Meyn, Simon Schultz and Ben Miller have already selected a few films from around 3000 mainly cis gay porn movies from the 1970s to the early 2000s.

The pre-selected movies include mainstream and kinky underground productions, both commercial cassettes and privately created video bootlegs. Many of these films came into the archive of the Schwules Museum in recent decades as donations from private collectors. That is why they sometimes still have personal notes. So far, the museum has catalogued a third of the collection. Only a few lesbian and trans* porn films were registered.

The participants are invited to watch films from this selection or to choose films from the SMU archive themselves in small groups. We will discuss the importance of films as historical and erotic subjects.

We particularly invite sex workers, porn and film makers, artists, curators, researchers and interested parties and we are also open to future projects.

The workshop will be held in English and is limited to 12 participants. Unfortunately, the workshop is already fully booked. Regular: €10, reduced: €3. Wearing an FFP2 mask is mandatory.
