Queere Kiezgeschichten: Marzahn-Hellersdorf

27. October 2025 12:00

Mon, October 27 – Wed, October 29, 2025

Queer life is everywhere! 🌈 With the Queer Neighborhood Stories project, we want to tell these stories, make them visible, and pass them on – from Spandau to Köpenick! 🐻

In the first phase of the project, we’re taking a closer look at Marzahn-Hellersdorf and asking: who are the queer legends of this district? Where has queer life existed here for generations? What was it like to live here as a queer person in the past? And who are we fighting alongside for queer liberation?

The Schwules Museum—aka the oldest queer museum in the world—will dive into the queer history of the district together with you and three different youth centers: we will meet contemporary witnesses and activists and leave our mark on the queer history of the city through a photography project, handmade zines, or other art projects!

The “Queer Neighborhood Stories” project days will take place from Monday, October 27 to Wednesday, October 29, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. each day. The meeting point is the location of our cooperation partners KIDS & CO, Alt-Hellersdorf 29-31, 12629 Berlin. On Tuesday, we will travel together to the archives of the Schwules Museum. Participation is free of charge, and snacks will of course be provided.

Are you between 14 and 22 years old, from Marzahn-Hellersdorf, and interested in participating? Then simply register at this email address: fuehrungen@schwulesmuseum.de
