Queering the Crip, Cripping the Queer (guided tour in English)

5. March 2023 16:00

A free guided tour through the Queering the Crip, Cripping the Queer: An Exhibit on Queer/Disabilty History, Activism, and Culture exhibition in English spoken language.

“Queering the Crip, Cripping the Queer” is the first international exhibit exploring the multiple historical, cultural, and political intersections of queerness and disability. The exhibition questions the fantasy of the ideal body with artworks by 24 international contemporary artists. In a creative juxtaposition of historical objects on the one hand and contemporary drawings, paintings, photographs, performance videos, and audio works on the other, curators Birgit BosoldKate BrehmeKenny Fries show how queer/disabled artists appropriate history(s) with pride and empowerment.

A registration is not necessary. Participation is for free, the entrance to the SMU itself is also free on this date as part of the Museumssonntag. Participation is only possible with a medical mask.
