In this workshop Raf and neo will talk together with the participants about queer death and loss. In the beginning we will watch together the short film ‘I Don’t Want to Be Just a Memory’ by Sarnt Utamachote, which captures the collective grieving process of survivors for friends who have lost their lives to substance abuse and mental health crises. We will share our thoughts and feelings about the film and there will be space to talk about the connections of our own processes of grieving. Please bring a personal object (or a song, text, citation etc.) with you that is connected to your own loss. In the end of the workshop, we will collectively let these objects go and create memories of queer togetherness.
Please note that this workshop deals with death, loss, mental health, substance abuse etc. We would like to ask all participants to pay attention to their own (psychological) boundaries and those of others. We want to create a space together that feels as safe as possible for all of us to exchange ideas and offer each other strength. We cannot offer counseling or psychological support.
The workshop will take place in English spoken language.
