Of Wallpaper, Hungry Hearts, and Lesbian Collages

11. May 2026 16:00

As part of the exhibition “Burning down the Patriarchy. The Berlin women and lesbians’ scene photographed by Petra Gall” we invite you to a conversation with Lilo Unger. We’ll look back at lesbian and feminist subculture in 1990s West Berlin—at collective work at Café Anal, lesbian Mondays at Café Ana, parties at Lipstick, and queer-feminist events at SO36.

The event will be held in spoken German. No registration is required. Participation is free; you only need to pay the admission fee to the Schwules Museum itself.

Speakers:
Lilo Unger was part of the Café Anal collective, has been an integral part of SO36 since the 1990s, and plays in the band Wonderska.

Leah Fot is a research intern at the Schwules Museum. Leah’s work focuses on sites of queer-lesbian subculture and history and their connections to queer-feminist movements across different generations.
