Become a part of the association!

In addition to institutional funding from the State of Berlin, membership fees are an indispensable source of income for realizing the projects of Schwules Museum. The regular membership fee supports Schwules Museum with 120 euros annually, while the reduced membership fee supports the Gay Museum with 37.50 euros. We are especially pleased about support contributions that exceed these amounts!

Benefits for Members

🎫 Annual Pass — Members of the association receive free admission to all exhibitions and events at the Gay Museum.

🗳️ Participation — Members are invited to the annual general meeting and can participate in decision-making within the association.

📰 Exclusive Insight — Members receive the exclusive member newsletter several times a year with interesting background information.

Reduced Fee

The reduced fee is based on the principle of solidarity and is particularly intended for trainees, students, retirees, unemployed individuals, and Berlin-Pass holders; as well as underrepresented groups within the association (women, lesbians, inter*, trans*, BIPoC). The reduction is based on trust, and proof is not required.

Information about the association

The non-profit association Verein der Freundinnen und Freunde eines Schwulen Museums in Berlin e.V.  (Friends of a Gay Museum in Berlin) is responsible for the Schwules Museum. The association was founded on 6 December 1985, is registered with the number VR 8397 Nz at the Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg and is a recognized non-profit according to §§ 51 ff of the German tax code.

Aside from institutional support from the City Berlin, membership dues contribute an indispensable source of income for the realization of the Museums intentions.
