Performance

Update: The performance is not recommended for people who are younger than 16 years.

In _Artificial infemme-ination maneuver_, Élan d’Orphium invites us to participate in a role-playing of plastic reinvention based on a set of techniques that hybridises magic tricks and essays on anatomy and promises allegorical and fantastic results. This act belongs to an investigation where sex-gender representations are read under a sedimentary logic of copy upon copy, something like the eternal dilemma of the chicken or the egg.

Élan d’Orphium (a.k.a. Pablo García Martínez) will collaborate in the frame of the exhibition “Ocaña. Der Engel, der in der Qual singt“ with an original site-specific artistic intervention created for this event at Schwules Museum.

Élan d’Orphium is an interdisciplinary artist who studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University (UCM, Madrid) and at Camberwell College (UAL, London). In 2019 they were granted the Excellence Scholarship at UCM and they are studying for a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Art Research and Creation (MIAC). They have performed and exhibited in Spain, United Kingdom, Italy, and Peru. The performance at Schwules Museum will be their first show in Germany.

The performance shows nudity and explicit content and is not recommended for people who are younger than 16 years. The event will be held in English and Spanish and will lasts 45 minutes. Visit only possible with medical mask. Admission: included in the museum admission (9€/3€ reduced)
