Theatre was shaping the LGBTQI*- culture in Germany in 1970 and 1980. At exclusive festivals for women, protest performances, performance art, in public or behind closed doors there was always the will to find theatrical expressions for sexuality and gender behind heterosexual norms.

This conference will be dealing with strategies of aesthetics and questions if there is such a thing as a genuine lesbian, gay or transgender theatre.
